Volunteer Leaders Needed for City Commissions

Each of the following commissions is in need of one more member to complete their volunteer team:

Planning Commission:
Members review and make recommendations on zoning, development, subdivision proposals and code amendments.  They prepare studies and surveys, plans, reports and maps to plan for the growth, development, redevelopment, rehabilitation and renewal of the City.
Meetings are scheduled for the first and third Monday of each month at 7:30 pm.

Environmental Advisory Commission:
Members develop practical methods for using our resources responsibly.  They help to develop educational programs and initiatives on environmental issues that include recycling, composting, storm-water management, litter reduction, air and noise pollution and green building processes.
Meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at 4:30 pm.

Arts Commission:
Members promote the visual and performing arts within our City.  Programs and events include the Photography Contest, Fine Arts Sampler, Antiques Appraisal and “All Fired Up” exhibit and sale.
Meetings are scheduled for the first Monday of each month at 5 pm.

Parks and Recreation Commission:
Members strive to improve the quality of life for Montgomery citizens by focusing on the development and maintenance of an integrated park system and comprehensive recreational program.  They concentrate on the current safety standards in the parks, review the recreation program and monitor the pool policy.
Meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.
